HR Advisor - £28-32k – Newark

Job Purpose:

To provide a professional HR service to the business in relation to all employee related issues through the employment cycle, from recruitment and retention, employee relations, through to exit.  To work with the management teams to create a stable and well trained workforce, through management development and upskilling, appropriately utilised HR policies and procedures, which are fit for purpose and support the business‘ strategy. 

Key aspects of the role:

Provide accurate and knowledgeable advice on all HR related policies and procedures

Manage the recruitment process for direct and indirect appointments.

Manage the recruitment agency relationships for agency workers and recruitment advertising.

Provide advice and support in relation to employee remuneration & benefits

Provide expert advice in relation to disciplinary and grievance matters

Provide expert advice in relation to absence related issues

Research, develop, recommend and communicate best practice HR policy and procedures

Provide L&D advice and support to line managers

Assist with the provision of accurate HR data reporting as required

Manage the administration of all HR documents and records

Coordinate selected HR Quality Assurance processes

Provide HR support for all International Assignments

The ideal candidate will be/have:

Degree educated or equivalent

Member of the Chartered Institute Of Personnel & Development

Occupational Testing and Personality Profiling (desirable)

3 years plus experience within a generalist Human Resource Advisor role.

Experience and exposure of dealing with Trade Union Representatives.

Employee Resourcing experience

Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.

Excellent interviewing skills – job selection, coaching, counselling.

A working knowledge of job evaluation.

Confident in influencing, negotiating, facilitating, consulting and advisory skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong communication skills

Proven team player with the ability to work on own initiative.

Excellent project leadership, management and facilitation skills.

Excellent presentation skills, to groups and individuals.

Excellent personal organisational skills

Good analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Excellent computer literacy skills – Microsoft Office and HR database.
