Job Details

My client, a globally recognised and professionally focused not-for-profit organisation now has a fantastic opportunity for an Organisational Development specialist to join them on a permanent basis.

As Organisational Development Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to provide specialist expertise to the Director of People & OD and the Senior and Extended Leadership Teams in the development of organisational culture, learning and development, performance and talent management, leadership and organisational change and development.

Central to the role of the OD Manager will be the ability to focus on maximising the value gained from people. As OD Manager you will review and challenge what the organisation wants and needs, analyse the gap between its current state and where it wants to be in future and design approaches that will bridge that gap. This is an important, wide reaching, future-focused role that will require a deep understanding of the organisation and a holistic view of everything from people practices, systems and structures to rewards, performance measures, policies, processes, culture and the wider working environment.

As an expert in change management, with deep understanding of the impacts of people changes and how to drive real and sustained behavioural change, you will be an effective collaborator with the ability to engage all people across the organisation in the delivery of sustainable and effective change.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring an integrated systems thinking approach and demonstrate a track record of developing planned OD interventions with a systemic mindset. An understanding of organisational culture and culture change and what creates it is also essential. Exposure to cultural diagnostic tools such as Human Synergistics would be highly desirable.

Essential requirements include:

The ability to engage, conduct diagnosis, analyse findings, generate options and build commitment to solutions

An excellent understanding of organisational development and design.

Personal gravitas and excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with people at all levels, internally and externally.

Proven leadership and change management skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills.

Strong coaching/mentoring skills.

Effective planning and project management skills with the ability to set and work to deadlines.

Numeracy and ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data.

A relevant qualification, or equivalent professional knowledge gained through significant experience working as an OD specialist, or as an L&D or HR generalist with a strong OD focus.
