Summary

Hearing from our staff and volunteers is important to us. We currently engage with our teams through staff and volunteer surveys each year, but as we move towards a one team approach and building a more inclusive culture, we’re looking for new ideas and ways to engage with both new and existing staff and volunteers

We’re looking for an experienced engagement specialist with strong project management capability and a proven track record of delivering staff or volunteer focussed projects. You’ll be responsible for designing what we do next, helping us to find the right supplier and product or approach, and leading the project through to implementation.

What it's like to work here

We're bigger than you think, we're more complicated than we appear and we're larger scale than you'd imagine. We've got passionate people in all our teams, and we've got so much more we want to achieve. We're for ever, for everyone and we really mean that. We don't want to stop at 5.5 million members and we want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, so we need to reach new audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them without losing the hearts and minds of those that are already with us.

Our central head office Heelis, is situated in Swindon, Wiltshire. We're well placed, with ample parking nearby, a shopping outlet with plenty of options for places to eat, and the town centre only a 10 minute walk away. Alternatively you can enjoy our open plan atrium space for lunch times, with our internal cafe available every day.

What you'll be doing

You'll be leading on the project to review how we engage with both our staff and volunteer teams, measuring and driving engagement that leads to outstanding organisational performance. This will include understanding internal stakeholder needs, responding to and reflecting external market best practice, engaging and testing suppliers and procuring and delivering a sustainable solution in 2020.

Who we're looking for

You’ll need to have a passion for people engagement, and a track record of delivering organisational change. You’ll have project management experience, alongside strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a large scale, multi-disciplined project team. To be successful in this role you’ll need to have the following;

  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of people engagement models and strategies and designing people experiences (staff and/or volunteers)
  • Proven experience of delivering complex projects, managing and engaging stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet quality, cost and delivery objectives
  • Demonstrable experience of using and/or providing people insights and data to drive people engagement in large scale, matrix organisations
  • Knowledge of equality and diversity and inclusive practice
  • Knowledge of general data protection regulations
  • Ability to think strategically and understand broader organisational issues
  • Ability to build highly effective and collaborative working relationships; excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Creative, open to new ideas and able to build on the ideas of others
  • Experience of working with agile frameworks and design thinking approaches
  • Experience of working with in partnership with suppliers to deliver products and services
