Oakleaf Partnership are currently working with a leading retail brand who are looking to appoint a Head of HR & Payroll to join their team. Due to the urgent requirement of this role the role will initially be offered on a 6 month FTC basis and you must be available to start at short notice.

This role leads the HR & Payroll Department and implements its strategy to support key business objectives. It also manages the risks associated with people ensuring that the business is compliant with all relevant employment legislation and to ensure that organisation is recognised within the market place as an 'employer of choice'.

Key Responsibilities

To work closely with the Executive Team and implement the HR strategy that supports business objectives and ensures that organisation is able to attract and retain the best talent.

To develop and deliver a reward strategy that supports business objectives.

To develop and deliver a training and development programmes that support business objectives.

To ensure the business attracts and employs the best talent in the market through the use of appropriate recruitment tools and processes.

To provide leadership to the Executive Team on people issues within the business and advise them on appropriate action.

To lead and manage the HR & Payroll team of nine and facilitate their ongoing development.

To provide coaching and facilitation skills to the Executive Team.

To attend and contribute to Executive team meetings which are held throughout the year.

To ensure all policies and procedures relating to people management are compliant with current employment legislation.

To keep abreast of current and future legislation ensuring that any key business risks are identified and managed appropriately.

To support the internal communication processes as and where necessary to ensure people within the business are provided with all relevant information needed to do their job and support key business objectives.

To provide support to the Executive Team on any other matters consistent with this role.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 3 years HR experience at management level

CIPD qualified

Payroll knowledge or experience

Confident in working closely with senior exec team

Strong leadership and team management skills

Experience of working in a HR role within the retail sector

Experience of having worked at Head of HR level
