Creating an employee-centric environment at a time of major change
About us
At the Department for International Trade (DIT), we help businesses succeed ̶ and we do that by helping our people to succeed. DIT is the international economic department responsible for bringing together policy, promotion and financial expertise to break down barriers to trade and investment. Critically, we will deliver a new trade policy framework for the UK as it leaves the EU. Our goal is to build DIT as an effective international economic department where our people are expert, enterprising, engaged and inclusive.
The opportunity
The role of Deputy Director - Employee Experience is key to achieving our ambitious goals. You will provide strategic oversight and leadership for our reward, benefits and performance strategies, as well as the full range of HR policies, employee engagement and resourcing. This broad portfolio means the opportunity to work at scale and to provide vital direction and cohesion at a time of complexity and change. You will help us improve the way employees interact with HR by identifying service improvements, synergies with other corporate activities and opportunities to reduce inefficiency and waste. To achieve this, you will build collaborative relationships with the other corporate functions, focusing on solutions that are employee-centric and that deliver a positive experience for our people.
The person
With senior-level experience in HR leadership or business partnering, you will have delivered complex initiatives that impact on organisational behaviour and culture. An inclusive and engaging leader, you will have a track-record of working with teams to deliver high-quality, responsive HR services. You must also be capable of managing a wide-ranging portfolio in a fast-paced, demanding environment. The ability to foster sound working relationships with a range of stakeholders is essential.
