Position

The team:

  • In the past two years, Portland has doubled in size and continues to grow at over 25% a year. This presents both challenges and opportunities to Recruitment and HR in meeting the needs of a fast growing business.
  • As an HR team of 7, we seek to be pro-active in meeting business deliverables – from recruitment, reward, learning and development, employee relations and succession planning.
  • We are now seeking an exceptional In-House Recruitment Consultant to join our HR Team to ensure we deliver against our ambitious recruitment goals.

The role:

The Recruitment Consultant will be responsible for the end-to-end recruitment pipeline for all entry-level to mid-level roles at Portland. The ideal candidate will join Portland’s in-house recruitment team to provide key support to the Senior Recruitment Business Partner, consisting of day-to-day administration and coordination. Although, the role is predominantly desk-based, the candidate will have the opportunity to meet senior stakeholders and candidates, both on and off site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Recruitment support to the Senior Recruitment Business Partner;
  • Pre-screening candidates from our talent inbox;
  • Pre-screening referrals;
  • Managing diaries for interviews, booking meeting rooms and sending invites;
  • Sending out interview confirmation;
  • Keeping interview and feedback log up-to-date;
  • Assisting on reporting analysis;
  • Posting job adverts on job boards;
  • Assisting the on-boarding process for new starters; 
  • Overseeing the approval process for new hires and contracts; 
  • Sending out new starter details to new joiners; 
  • Supporting the recruitment team with Portland’s Graduate Programme, Internship Programme and Apprenticeship Programme;
  • Conducting and owning all administration surrounding the recruitment activities and events;
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across all teams;
  • Marketing collateral/mailshots/response to event invites;
  • Other ad-hoc duties may need to be performed from time to time, in addition to or instead of the above duties. Please note, the requirements of this role may change over time and employee may need to be required to comply with all such reasonable changes.

Requirements

Qualifications, skills and competencies:

You must:

  • Have at least 2-3 years’ relevant experience within the recruitment industry, either in-house or within an agency;
  • Be a bright, articulate individual with strong aptitude for IT skills; specifically MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel (to an intermediate level) and MS PowerPoint, which are essential;
  • Be comfortable and confident to engage and influence at all levels of the business;
  • Have a strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills;
  • Be an open communicator, happy working in a team environment and independently within units;
  • Be used to operating in a fast-paced environment and can give examples of juggling multiple work streams;
  • Be logical, quick and flexible with a results orientated approach;
  • Have strong self-awareness with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
