A HR Manager is required on a contract basis for 12 months in Chelmsford

Your new company
A HR manager is required on a contract basis for 12 months in Chelmsford. You will lead a team and support multi sites nationally.

Your new role

  • Lead and develop a team covering 3,000 staff nationally.
  • Line management, support and advice to the transactional team.
  • Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy. Providing advice and guidance to the team when necessary.
  • Checking and approving outcome letters, providing guidance on an on going basis.
  • Appealing hearings.
  • Lead on complex TUPE transfer processes (both in and out).
  • Continuously challenging working practices in order to make improvements to service delivery, developing new ways of working. This includes the development of the new staff management and payroll system, automating key process and improving the provision of management information.
  • Developing effective KPIs to measure the effectiveness and positive impact of the HR department.
  • Working with the senior managers to make improvements to their business areas, coaching and advising on all people related issues.
  • Supporting large change processes.
  • Developing HR training programmes for line managers.


What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in a senior role is essential, leading a team and managing complex case work. You will have excellent employment law knowledge and have experience of high volume case work.
