Description

Purpose of the Compensation Analyst in London:

To deliver and co-ordinate the Group's fixed and variable compensation cycles and provide subject matter expert support and analysis to key stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities:

Assist the Front Office Finance Manager (or equivalent) with the financial and technical aspects of fixed and variable compensation calculations, forecasting, management information, and reporting including:

  • Build, maintain and develop financial models to facilitate the forecasting and budgeting of fixed and variable compensation as part of the Group's wider financial planning

  • Work collaboratively with business unit owners to analyse and challenge variances to budget

  • Computation of formulaic awards and compensation pools across the business

  • Help to co-ordinate and deliver the Group's annual variable compensation cycle; including ownership of the timetable and the provision of compensation data to business unit owners

  • Production of total reward statements for the Group

  • Develop an understanding of key HR processes that impact compensation and drive the resolution of data quality issues

  • Play a key role in projects that enhance and automate compensation processes

  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders and act as an advisor to the business

  • Provide financial information for internal or public disclosures of our variable compensation and processes and review for accuracy and completeness

  • Ad hoc analysis or requests related to fixed or variable compensation

Profile

Requirements for the Compensation Analyst:

  • Educated to degree level

  • A typical candidate may have an accounting background, but not essential

  • Familiarity with compensation cycles and processes preferable but not essential

  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data

  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. ability to write basic macros)

  • Financial modelling experience

  • Numerically and analytically minded

  • Process orientated

  • Ability to work unsupervised together with using own initiative and a pro-active approach
