Exeter, Weston or Tolvaddon (with travel to other sites as necessary)

Now is an exciting time to join our client, the largest housing provider in the South-West. They are a leading developer of affordable and social housing and from Cornwall to Gloucestershire, they are making a real difference for people and communities. 

As well as owning more than 36,000 homes, they are developing 1,600 new homes each year, with ambitious plans to build 16,000 new homes over the next ten years.

Our client is looking for an engaging and empowering leader to join their People Management team as their Head of Organisational Learning and Talent Management. You will translate our client’s strategic objectives into operational plans; focusing on organisational development, your specialist expertise will develop a strong performance focused culture that will support their long term business objectives.

The Role

As the Head of Organisational Learning and Talent Management, you will lead on our client’s vision and associated plans to be a leading South-West employer.

Through your high-quality management and leadership development skills, you will enhance our client’s brand and resilience in an ever changing labour market. You will successfully and comprehensively thread together their purpose, vision and business objectives in all areas of OD and Talent Management.

You will work with and support colleagues across the business to identify capability gaps and flesh out a strategic workforce plan that will futureproof their plans and objectives.

Additionally, you will: 

- Create, develop and implement an appropriate talent management and succession planning framework that ensures long term business continuity

- Lead coaching initiatives that will ensure our client’s values are a fundamental part of working life for their colleagues

-  Work with the leadership team to achieve cultural change across all departments to develop an outcome focused, safety first culture

- Drive improvements relating to our client’s People Management processes, ensuring the needs of the business and their colleagues are always considered in the balance

The outcome of these actions and initiatives will be an L&D strategy that will drive business results, improve culture and drive employee engagement through a functioning and meaningful framework.

About You 

To join our client as the Head of Organisational Learning and Talent Management, you will need: 

- To be MCIPD qualified, or have demonstrable, equivalent experience through study and experience

- A degree level qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience and study

- Demonstrable experience and evidence of leading OD initiatives and interventions in a high performing organisation

- Multiple examples of delivering talent management and succession planning programmes

- The capability and understanding of how to implement and influence effective change and transformation at a senior level

- An authentic leadership approach that inspires all colleagues across the business

- Evidence of continual professional development
