The business has grown significantly since 2015 through a combination of organic growth and M&A investment. During this period there has been significant share price growth due to strategic and financial delivery in excess of market expectations.  This fantastic employer has significantly increased the internal capital programme across the company to continue recent strong organic growth.  Acquisition is also a key feature of the strategy going forward with further bolt on acquisitions likely each year.  The capability of the organisation has also been built over the last few years to substantially enhance the functional and business capability and ensure the resources are in place to deliver the exciting growth.  

The HR and Resourcing department is going through a period of rapid change as they seek to create a high performing function. As the business grows they are seeking people who can help build a strong reputation in the business and support the development of a first class team that delivers the highest standards of service. They are investing significant effort and resources in technology and HR capability and want to offer an environment that attracts people with a passion for customer service and delivering excellence. 

What will be keeping you busy?

You will partner HR client leads and recruiting managers in the delivery of an efficient and effective UK recruitment & resourcing service. You will design and deliver strategies, processes, tools and services that deliver high quality recruits at reduced costs and time to hire. Innovatively develop the business’ employment brand and external presence to respond to business needs and evolving talent market trends.

It will be down to you to ensure that all recruitment requests are fully scoped and approved. You will then identify appropriate recruitment methodologies and assessment techniques and design assessment processes (including interviews, assessment centres and psychometric testing); advise on psychometrics and coach managers in their use.

Whilst trying to reduce agency spend, you will also make sure that agreements and measures are in place and act as the primary contact for agencies and run competitive tendering projects to select preferred partners.

On an ongoing basis, you will provide reporting for all vacancies and recruitment activity (including maintaining data bases and systems) ensuring clear actions and ownership are in place.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally you will be managing recruitment from industrial levels to middle management with some emphasis on technical or engineering roles and some admin or central function roles.  It would be great if you have also had exposure to handling some graduate and early career roles. Typically you will have recruited roles with salaries of £25,000 - £80,000. Above this you possibly have been supporting rather than leading on hiring but if you have exposure at a senior level, that’s great.

Most important is some expertise in basic recruitment techniques and as with other roles in this business team, you will hold a positive and genuinely solution orientated attitude.

You will possess strong basic technical skills & knowledge in employment branding, resourcing, assessment techniques and agency management. It would also be a bonus if you are qualified in the use of psychometric tools.

If you have experience of working with or supporting manufacturing, technical or scientific client groups that would be advantageous. You will be working with client groups that are very bright and naturally inquisitive and they will want to understand the rationale for new initiatives. You will need to provide explanations and take them with you.

You will have strong basic technical skills & knowledge in resourcing and you should also be able to deliver effectively in a matrix environment!
