For over 80 years Chester Zoo has been a leading conservation and education charity, and an amazing, award-winning visitor attraction. As the largest zoo in the UK, with 1.9mn visitors pa and the UK's tenth largest visitor attraction, the scale of this opportunity can't be underestimated.

The Director of People and Culture will work closely with Senior Management to create a positive, productive and engaging workplace in an effective, growing and diligent environment. The Director will work to design and implement a Human Resources strategy that is aligned with the zoo's strategic development plan and objectives. A specific focus will be around Recruitment and Talent Management, Training and Performance Management, and Reward and Recognition.

Ideal candidates are likely to have experience of leading an HR function in a business undergoing significant growth with a defined cultural change agenda. Our client has a preference for those coming from a fast-paced environment such as hospitality, retail, leisure or service sector background.

More specifically, experience of leading an HR function in a business which operates with a significant number of fixed term employees in order to meet seasonal requirements would be ideal!!
