Responsible for operating as a Partner to the function, ensuring all operational training requirements are proactively identified and achieved to the highest standard. Partner with the function to ensure compliance rates are achieved and insights reported upon to the business.

Description


  • Work collaboratively with the Operational Training team, HSSA and Compliensuring a continuous focus on improvement and service delivery is achieved
  • Have a complete understanding of the operational requirements of the function in terms assets, people, commercials and constraints
  • Establish a strong relationship with our training providers and identify opportunities to partner with them to deliver training initiatives
  • Ensure training matrices are optimised and utilised effectively within the function you are partnering
  • Have a strong awareness of health and safety standards and how they are applying within a training approach
  • Continually build upon the ways in which we capture and utilise training and compliance data, ensuring valuable insights are shared with the business to enable well informed decision making
  • Act as the escalation point for specific training requirements, ensuring a high level of leadership, commercial acumen and resolution is achieved
  • Challenge the status quo and continue to develop ideas, benchmarking against best practice and industry standards
  • Carry out training needs analysis on a regular basis to ensure the correct initiatives are in place and ensuring gaps are proactively filled with the correct solutions
  • Ensure your function is represented in all decisions associated with the development of your people
  • Work effectively with other HR teams and Centre of Expertise to deliver a high-value service to the business
  • Manage HR and training documentation confidentially and in-line with the Data Protection Act, maintaining integrity of electronic/hard copy files and document storage and complying with audit requests

    KNOWLEDGE

    Essential

    • Knowledge of health and safety training requirements within an operational environment
    • Wider training knowledge gained through previous experience

    Desirable

    • An in-depth knowledge of the function area in which you will be partnering

    • Ability to multi task shifting priorities

    EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • Strong training / L&D experience within a shared service environment, or over multiple locations
    • Demonstrable experience of providing advice to senior colleagues on training needs and solutions
    • Project Management experience

    Desirable

    • Experience within the waste management and recycling sectors and/or a water utility company

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Desirable

    • Achieved or actively working towards a training qualification
    • NEBOSH qualified
