HR plays a pivotal role in the business operation. In addition to supporting the business achieve its goals and deliver a sustained performance, HR is the first point of contact for all employment relations, culture and people development activity.
A permanent role exists for an experienced HR Business Partner working as part of the media HR team. It is an extremely visible and pressurised role working with relevant business areas to develop strategies, support and implement change management initiatives and practices. This person will help develop capability and drive performance improvement for the organisation as a whole.
The post holder will be proactive in recommending appropriate people solutions, be effective in promoting the work of the HR department and ensure visibility across the business unit – calling in specialist support where required.
What will be keeping you busy?
The focus will be to develop a strong partnering relationship with senior managers and directors in the designated areas of the business, acting as an internal consultant to diagnose, develop and implement effective HR strategies and people plans which support their business goals and drive sustained business performance.
Working with senior leaders, you will seek to identify and plan the learning and development of their teams in order to improve performance, capability and wider talent development to further the objectives of the business.
The HRBP will Lead, advise and guide the scoping and implementation of any organisational restructures, providing challenge and insight to the wider business strategic direction and business unit goals. You will also support and develop business leaders in the identification of talent. Provide guidance and advice on action plans to support retention and development of high potential individuals, and in conjunction with the business, develop robust succession plans with actions clearly identified and planned for.
You will oversee, coach and support managers with performance management and provide guidance and oversight on complex employee relations issues – calling in specialist support wherever necessary.
Alongside the BAU activities, you will also support and deliver projects as specified both within business units or group wide (acting as an HR lead project manager, where required) including and participating in organisational development initiatives in support of the business vision and values.
Who are we looking for?
We want to see people with genuinely strong experience as a CIPD-accredited commercially focused. senior HR professional. You will be able to demonstrate successful experience in change management and in supporting the growth of a truly fast paced organisation.
You will adopt strong team ethics and a proactive leadership approach and if you have experience of working in a media business that would be great, but not essential.
As well as possessing excellent questioning and analytical skills you will hold a high level of initiative and attention to detail, with a creative approach to problem solving.
You will be someone with broad knowledge of employment law with an excellent record of achievement in resolving difficult casework problems.
A high degree of drive, energy, self-confidence and commitment to getting the job done is important, as is the ability to work with passion and good humour.
If you have some experience of HRIS and specifically working with Workday that would be a bonus but they can get you up to speed quickly if not.
