My client a Manufacturing business in West London are recruiting for a Technical Training Manager to support 3 of their Manufacturing and Distribution sites.

You will be tasked with developing internal training programmes covering both mandatory training needs and development needs. They are looking for an experience trainer who process solid technical aptitude with excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to explain complex subjects such as Manual Handling, Health & Safety in the workplace and First Aid in the workplace in a clear and interesting way and be able to contribute or lead the development of appropriate e-learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Input into the induction programme for new starters, ensuring an effective introduction to the business and that Managers and the HR team are aware of requirements and their responsibilities
  • To ensure employees are release and covered for during planned training activity with support from departmental managers
  • To evaluate department training
  • Input to the Annual Training Plan, ensuring that the appropriate refresher training and proactive interventions are planned for the year
  • Design and develop learning interventions according to organisational requirements
  • Develop appropriate training materials, sometime bespoke, including agendas and training schedules to meet those requirements
  • To regularly attend meetings with other Training Officers as required at other sites
  • Ensure that materials are updated and refreshed as procedures, priorities and business needs change
  • Schedule and run (either personally or via another employee or provider) refresher course across the business within the required timeframe
  • To act as Training Champion and be the main point of contact for all training activity on site
  • To ensure effective procedures are in place for all key operationally aligned activities and ensure all employees and workers are adequately trained
  • To keep training matrices and records up to date in preparation for audits

The ideal candidate

  • Previous experience of delivering training in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience and knowledge of modern training techniques and tools
  • Experience in designing course content, including that of a technical nature (Manual Handling, Health & Safety in the workplace, First Aid in the workplace)
  • Ability to address training needs with complete course
