You’ll help us identify and source the best instructors, develop learning and performance improvement solutions across traditional and virtual classroom environments, and consult with other areas of the Firm to ensure our curriculums and initiatives support the PwC strategy.

Reporting to the Assurance Relationship Leader, the Portfolio Manager for External Audit will work as part of the Assurance Strategic Relationships team to manage the Talent & Development (T&D) relationships for learning programmes across External Audit, ensuring these T&D solutions meet current and future requirements.

The role Responsible for supporting the shaping of the T&D agenda specific to External Audit, as part of the wider Assurance offering, understanding key strategic priorities, determining how learning and development interventions can support the achievement of them, and working across T&D to help deliver these interventions.

Key aspects of this role will include:

  • Operating as a business partner and engage with key business stakeholders across the Assurance LoS to obtain an understanding of the training needs specific to External Audit, working closely with the wider Assurance Strategic Relationships Team

  • Being jointly-accountable for delivery of the External Audit elements of the annual Assurance

  • T&D portfolio, i.e. the Book of Work

  • Working with other T&D Teams to ensure that all planned Assurance T&D activity, and in particular activity relating to External Audit, is implemented and achieved

  • Analysing various strategic, operational and evaluation reporting at both curriculum and programme level

  • Discussing analysis with key stakeholders and appropriate parties within T&D to produce recommendations, an improvement plan and oversee any resulting activity

  • Requirements
  • Demonstrate suitable knowledge of Learning and Development tools and requirements

  • Experience in External Audit is preferred; an Assurance background is essential

  • Previous experience in Learning and Development / Training / Tutoring would be helpful, along with the ability to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of current methodologies

  • Operate with a global mind-set, demonstrating commercial acumen and an understanding of the firm’s business priorities

  • Goal orientated – maintains focus on agreed objectives and deliverables

  • Commercially orientated – keeps commercial aspects continually in mind when taking actions or making decisions

  • Ability to lead and develop self and others to provide a distinctive and sustainable T&D service to the firm

  • Communicate confidently and effectively to all levels

  • Assimilate complex data and information objectively to inform recommendations

  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Plan strategically and can translate vision and strategy into clear, actionable objectives

  • Work professionally and collaboratively as part of the wider team to create value for the firm

  • Demonstrate resilience and delivery under pressure
