A career in Learning and Development, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to the success of our people by developing quality and relevant learning initiatives that constantly improve the PwC experience. You’ll help us identify and source the best instructors, develop learning and performance improvement solutions across traditional and virtual classroom environments, and consult with other areas of the Firm to ensure our curriculums and initiatives support the PwC strategy.

Reporting to the Technical Content Senior Manager, the Risk Assurance Technical Author is responsible for the development of Risk Assurance technical learning content which includes all entry routes (e.g. Technology Assurance, Business, Risks and Controls, Apprenticeships and Interns) as well as proposition training from Associate to Partner. We operate in a strict regulatory environment based on defined learning objectives, findings from regulatory reviews and input from various subject matter experts (SMEs).

You will be expected to maintain and update your technical expertise, your links with your home business unit, and current engagements as required.

The role

The Risk Assurance Technical Author is responsible for applying foundation design skills in conjunction with their technical Assurance expertise to develop Risk Assurance training material for classroom or technology-enabled solutions. As current client facing practitioners, the authors are the first line of defense to ensure materials are technically accurate, however, they will work closely with the relevant SMEs.

Specifically, they will be responsible for designing and writing Risk Assurance technical learning materials in partnership with experienced T&D professionals including both new content required to address emerging business requirements, and substantial tailoring of existing UK content to reflect changing business requirements. This will be across a range of delivery approaches, e.g. face-to-face sessions, simulation or elearn.

  • A strong interest in OAS is required
  • Have strong technical Assurance skills – with current client engagement exposure
  • Have a strong working knowledge of Aura and other systems / tools used within the Assurance environment
  • Work and operate within an environment of constant regulatory scrutiny
  • Strong interest in T&D design and delivery, and application of 70 20 10
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as a track record of working professionally and collaboratively as part of a wider-team
  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships
  • Communicate confidently and effectively, both in written and verbal form
  • Innovative and creative in approaching new challenges
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Effectively use online collaboration tools e.g. online meetings and Google@Work
  • An experience of tutoring / facilitating Assurance programmes would be beneficial
