An exciting position has arisen for an experienced Head of Talent and Capability Development Manager to join a leading, very well-established retail organisation based in the West Midlands with some travel.

Description

The Head of Talent and Capability Development Manager will report directly in to the Chief Peoples Director with direct reports that consists of Resourcing, Development team, Capability team and the Resourcing lead.

You will be responsible to put in place the systems, processes and controls to ensure the business has the collective enterprise capability to deliver the business strategy. This will be achieved through leading the delivery of learning for all colleagues and the resourcing of capability through volume and specialist recruitment. The Head of Talent and Capability Development Manager will lead the process of constructive 'challenge and support' of senior business leaders to ensure that enterprise capability is anticipated, understood, recruited and developed at the right time in the business cycle.

  • Define and lead the process of identification of individual talent
  • Lead the resourcing team to ensure the provision of people with the right capability delivered at the right time in an efficient way
  • Balance cost of internal led provision with appropriate use of external suppliers
  • Lead the delivery of volume training and development, meeting the needs of the enterprise capability requirements
  • Actively identify the organisational development agenda, focusing on target operating models
  • Work with the Executive Team and, where requested the Board, to support Executive and Board effectiveness with a focus on optimising performance

Profile

The ideal candidate will have been in a similar role as a Head of Talent and Capability Development in a mid-size business that is able to demonstrate working with change and transformation.

You must have experience is leading multi-functional teams and are able to demonstrable experience with senior stakeholders and are able to evidence of implementing long term plans.

Job Offer

Head of Talent and Capability Development will receive up to £100'000pa plus benefits including flexible working.
