Fantastic opportunity to join a market leading organisation in the Utilities industry based in Hatfield. They are currently looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Client Details

The client are a friendly and supportive organisation, who offer great career progression opportunities and competitive benefits. Their Head Office is based in Hatfield and they are currently seeking to appoint a Learning and Development Manager to start ASAP. Please note there will also be travel involved to Folkestone. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Learning and Development (designing and delivering training, coaching, e-Learning etc.) as well as experience managing a small team.

Description

  • Partner with the senior management team and functional stakeholders (for example resource planning) to build a clear training and quality delivery programme of work (including a training needs analysis)

  • Develop a clear life-cycle training plan from induction, graduation, refresher and development training.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders and managers within operational areas to define, design and deliver training requirements to both colleagues and contracted employees

  • Define the strategy for the team, ensuring best practice is used, technology is taken advantage of (e.g. e-learning, speech analytics tools)
  • Provide leadership and guidance to support your team to deliver training that is engaging, impactful and achieves the right outcomes

  • Encourage development of and provide coaching to support the growth and enhancement of skills and capabilities with each member of the team

  • Responsible for the regular collation of reporting linked to training and competence

  • Managerial duties for a team of 8
  • Where appropriate, work with external suppliers in the effective design and implementation of training to be delivered, providing guidance and expertise to ensure learning is relevant and within budget.

Profile

The successful candidate will:

    • Have experience managing a small team
    • Enthusiastic, flexible and professional in approach with a 'can do' positive and consistent manner

    • Self-motivated, able to work at pace, on own initiative, with the ability to manage a considerable and varied workload

    • Strong stakeholder management skills

    • Has demonstrable and practical knowledge and experience of all elements of the training cycle

    • Ability to design, develop and deliver (and facilitate) class-room based solutions, with an awareness of instructional design and eLearning

    • Experience in evaluation of learning solutions and programmes in order to identify the return on investment

  • Mobility and a willingness to travel to the two main locations and within the business as required
