Description
Role of the Expatriation Manager in London:
Expat Processes
- Manage the full cycle of impatriate management services from arrival to departure including: housing management with the support of the relocation company, UK immigration, UK tax reporting, schooling, allowances and benefits and removal of belongings
- Manage and provide ongoing support to the inbound expatriate populations for the duration of their assignment to the UK
- Provide impatriate cost simulations to the Group
- Advise Group on UK legislative aspects of assignments to the UK such as immigration requirements, taxation and social security processes
- Responsible for ensuring UK immigration applications for impatriate assignees are completed efficiently and accurately and UK immigration compliance requirements are carried out accordingly. Support ad-hoc requests for Business Visitor visa invitation letters
- Manage a team of two HR professionals and support them with day to day activities ensuring an efficient impatriate management service is provided.
Taxation
- Management of the team preparing the RTI tax reporting process for the payrolls, ensuring monthly submissions and year-end gross-up process for each entity are completed accurately and on time. Work closely with HR contacts in the relevant subsidiaries and overseas affiliates for data gathering
- Frequent interaction with the UK tax department and PwC to ensure tax compliance across all subsidiaries for the RTI process
- Supervise the delivery of the annual tax questionnaire and declaration process in accordance with the agreed timeline established with PwC, providing guidance and assistance to impatriates to ensure that their tax returns are filed in a timely manner
Compensation and Benefits
- Manage UK taxable events on Performance Share Grant Plans (PSGs) and Capital Increase Schemes for inbound expatriates.
- Support the UK taxable events affecting other categories of internationally mobile employees and work closely with the Payroll Team to ensure all affected employees are treated correctly at each taxable event
- Roll out Capital Increase Scheme UK taxation information to impatriates, developing communication templates and material to ensure the tax implications of subscribing to the scheme are clear and concise
- Prepare impatriate tax budget figures for impatriates
Profile
Requirements for the Expatriation Manager in London:
HR experience covering International Assignment management is essential
Strong knowledge of UK immigration and UK tax
Relevant University Degree and / or Grad CIPD
Solid understanding of Group HR Expatriation policies and procedures
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as ability to communicate internally, externally and cross-culturally at all levels within the organisation
Excellent organisational skills
Fluency in French desirable
