Oakleaf are proud to be working with this well-known retail company across the UK who are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join them on a permanent basis as soon as possible.

The role is a true generalist role with a strong focus on employee relations and employment law. There is also the opportunity to get involved with the strategy for the business. This is a really exciting time to join the business given that they are looking to grow two of their subsidiaries, of which this role will be heavily involved with!

The role includes but is not limited to:

Responsible for the line management of a HR Administrator

Act as a mentor in the wider people team providing support and guidance

Input into and implement their people strategy

Partner with the business to identify strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities, whilst developing long term plans to improve business performance

Work closely with HR colleagues across the business to monitor, review and update all policies in line with current legislation and best practice

Provide an advisory service to employees ensuring that they are fully aware of their rights and entitlements

Manage staff relationships, promptly respond to queries and manage expectations

Ensure Human Resources matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements

Support the HR Manager with grievance, disciplinary and capability investigations and hearings

Support and develop recruitment campaigns, negotiate corporate recruitment accounts

Help to drive organisational performance by driving core business objectives

Work in partnership with line managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing and staff management/development.

Preparing ad hoc and regular management reports supporting in improvement of management and monitoring performance management and sickness absence systems

Input and support of monthly payroll and benefits activities

You will need to have experience as a generalist with an interest in getting involved with the strategy for the business. We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious individuals who can come on board and make an impact straight away.

This role will suit someone looking to extend their operational experience as well as gaining further exposure to business strategy.
