Recruitment and Training Advisor

Your new company

My client are one of the UK's largest logistics providers with 3 large operations in Staffordshire, servicing their large, household retail customer.

They now have a requirement for an experienced Recruitment professional to join their team to work from any of the three locations with regular travel around the sites.


Your new role

Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Manager as part of the wider HR team, you will support the three main Distribution Centres in Stafford, Stoke and Lichfield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop end to end recruitment processes, with responsibility for all resourcing activity, including high volume colleague recruitment, clerical and management resourcing.
  • Working with and developing effective relationships with our centres of excellence, key operational stakeholders and third party providers to enable us to attract the best talent to our business.
  • Ensuring all recruitment activity is managed efficiently, accurately and on time whilst continuously seeking opportunities for improvement
  • Formulate and ensure delivery of a clear and structured recruitment plan engaging with Recruiting Manager's to understand business needs and to ensure resource planning meets the ongoing changing needs of the business.
  • Support management teams to develop recruitment and selection tools to enable selection of the best candidates.
  • Establish most effective recruitment advertising methods and widen advertising in the local area, i.e. jobs fayres, media advertising, social media.
  • Manage the apprenticeship portfolio to ensure levy opportunities are maximised. This will include driving engagement across the business and the management of programme sign ups across the network.
  • Work closely with the business and the wider HR team to develop and implement Training & Development activities to support the ongoing development of all colleagues across the network.
  • Preparing and delivering training sessions, workshops or briefings to support the ongoing development of the management teams.
  • Supporting the introduction and management of graduates across the network; working with the central team supporting the wider Grad Programme to ensure robust future plans, selection, rotations and development.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience dealing with high volume recruitment is essential.
  • Experience working in a training & development role, or relevant experience in a logistics, warehouse or retail environment would be a distinct advantage
  • Good understanding of employment legislation regulations relating to recruitment and selection
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, results focused environment.
  • Passionate about recruitment, striving to provide a first-class service and finding the best talent!
  • Experience of designing and delivering training programmes.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a business with changing needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and align to operational requirements where required.
  • A proactive approach, efficient and high level of personal organisation.


What you'll get in return

The role attracts a salary of up to £35,000, dependant on experience plus a company car or car allowance, 25 days holiday, onsite gym, life assurance and a company pension scheme.
