HR Advisor - £23,000 - £26,000 - Cwmbran

Your new company
Hays HR are recruiting exclusively for our client who are based in Cwmbran and looking to appoint a HR Advisor. Our clients Manufacture Specialist Technical Equipment.

Your new role

  • To be mutually responsible for supporting all HR matters within the business alongside the HR Manager.
  • Advise and guide Managers on HR best practice and ensure consistency in application of the people policies across the business. Administer all system changes for the business area.
  • Effectively advise and guide management through people related issues such as disciplinary, grievance and absence management processes
  • Advise on the management of any formal processes, attending formal hearings, taking accurate minutes and updating employee files
  • Work with managers and HR colleagues to ensure fair and consistent application of the organisation's people policies and procedures
  • Develop effective relationships within the business unit to promote good employee relations (ER)
  • Ensure accurate and timely system updates for payroll purposes including but not limited to new starter entry, leaver administration, contract variation and time and attendance updates
  • Create and maintain accurate employee records and contract documentation
  • Monitor sickness absence levels, liaising with managers to address sickness absence issues including liaising with the occupational health team where necessary
  • Support the HR Manager and Managers in all disciplinary, capability and grievance issues for your business unit
  • Review and assist in improving HR processes to provide a first class range of services
  • To promote best practice ER activities across the business
  • Produce, record and monitor HR Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for your business unit; analyse trends and patterns and present this data to Senior Management
  • Participate in the recruitment processes across the business.To progress HR projects with particular responsibility for People Policies and application
  • Promote and monitor the use of the Employee Assistant Programme
  • Keep abreast of employment law changes by regularly attending legal updates and feedback to the HR Work closely with L&D team to develop training material in line with best practice and legal updates


What you'll need to succeed
For this HR Advisor role, you will have all round generalist HR experience, ideally within a professional services environment. A CIPD or relevant HR qualification is desirable. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to build relationships. As HR Advisor, you will be organised, well able to multi-task and meet deadlines. You will enjoy working in a busy environment, and have a proactive approach in order to drive business developments. Excellent IT skills and a strong knowledge of HR systems are essential for the role.
