This role will be required to develop and execute a learning strategy that enables organisational effectiveness and builds organisational capability. This role will be required to design blended learning offerings factoring in the implementation of a self-directed learning platform across the organisation.

Description

  • Partnering the leaders from across the organisation fully understanding the strategic and operational aims to create, own and fully deliver a learning strategy that enables business performance and improves organisational capability
  • Working in collaboration with leaders, OD leads & HR develop the annual learning and development plan to meet the organisations strategic needs, build the organisations capability and drive best value. This will be carried out in line with the annual business planning activity to ensure a proactive approach to budgetary planning and management including the use of a variable cost model meet short, medium and long term needs.
  • Through the knowledge you acquire from across the organisation, actively contribute to the development and delivery of the overarching People Strategy to ensure business strategy is achieved through people initiatives.
  • Thought leader on all aspects of contemporary learning and development on behalf of the organisation; sharing knowledge and building capability in others
  • Working collaboratively with the leaders and stakeholders from across the organisation, move the mind-set of people from a traditional learning philosophy to one a of self-directed, digitally enabled approach, enabling the business to be effective through the concept of 70-20-10 learning
  • Partner leaders across the organisation to providing professional and expert advice to enable them to decide on the appropriate development routes for individuals and groups; from a range of solutions and effective interventions.
  • Lead inspire and effectively performance manage the L&D team ensuring a best in class offering is achieved and experienced by the organisation

  • Working with our Commercial colleagues proactively manage suppliers/vendors to ensure best value is driven from our contractual arrangements

  • Working with the commercial partners procure and project manage strategic L&OD initiatives for the whole organisation

  • Lead a learning community made up of colleagues from across the organisation to share knowledge, best practice ensuring alignment to the operational training teams and maintaining standards of best in class learning and development across the whole organisation

Profile

  • Substantial specialist knowledge of Learning and Development
  • Ability to build effective and trusting business partnering relationships
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work at a strategic level developing L&D solutions to meet business need.
  • Strong communication skills to establish good working relationships with leaders, colleagues and external organisations
  • Able to use initiative, multi task and prioritise diverse workload and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to be responsible and accountable for decision making.
  • Evidence of on-going Continuing Professional Development
  • Significant demonstrable experience of design, delivery, programme management of a range of strategic learning and development initiatives including developmental and statutory and mandatory in a complex operating environment
  • Educated to degree in relevant discipline
  • CITP/CIPD or equivalent training qualification

  • Development Level 7 diploma in coaching
