Senior HR Advisor

I am working with a well-established Education services company who are looking for a Senior HR Advisor. This company is looking for someone ideally form the Education sector who will be comfortable working remotely to support their portfolio of London Schools.

Please note travel within London is required and it is essential that you have a full driving licence and your own transport.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support a portfolio of schools on all aspects of HR management. Liaising with the school's allocated HR/Payroll colleagues to ensure a seamless HR, Payroll & Pensions service.

Offer accurate interpretation, advice, application and representation to customers on employment legislation, best practice and policies and procedures in relation to and in the context of customers' policies and procedures on a range of HR matters.

Includes complex casework on recruitment and selection, remuneration, terms and conditions of service, disciplinary and capability (performance and health) cases, grievance, redundancy and whole school restructures, academy conversions and TUPE etc.

Undertake visits to customers to provide support and advice on HR concerns to assist in their resolution.

To attend and advise at formal hearings/appeals, up to and including dismissals, and attend and advise at union consultation meetings.

Identify situations where legal/safeguarding support is needed and liaise as appropriate.

Essential skills and abilities:

Minimum of 18 months experience in an advisory HR position including advice and support for managers, training, responsibility for the appointment and dismissal of staff, grievance, disciplinary procedures, absence management, redundancy, etc.

Experience attending hearings up to and including dismissal to advise managers and/or present the case

Competent in establishing good working relationships with a range of customers e.g. headteachers, governors, and senior managers, or similar

Confident in negotiating with trade union representatives

Excellent ICT Skills and highly skilled communicator both written and verbally

Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure to strict deadlines
