Employee Relations Specialist: Contractor
Macmillan Davies are supporting a large Investment Bank in Canary Wharf to appoint an Interim ER specialist until the end of the year on a day rate basis, starting immediately. You must have worked within financial services in a similar environment to be considered.

* Working alongside 3 other ER Specialists, you will be responsible for successfully handling all disciplinary and grievance cases, acting as the decision manager in your own right, ensuring that outcomes are fair, consistent and reflect the bank's risk appetite.
*You will successfully partner with the Litigation or CCRO Investigations teams and/or external counsel to investigate the most high profile, complex investigations into conduct related matters and reportable concerns and will represent the UK Employee Relations team on global and regional projects as required and provide Employee Relations related to training and coaching as required.
*Successfully handle the most complex and high profile grievance and disciplinary cases primarily in the UK, taking into account legal obligations, regulatory expectations and the bank's risk appetite and ensuring effective risk management at all times
*Support the Head of Employee Relations with the accurate recording, monitoring and reporting of Employee Relations cases as directed
*Represent the Employee Relations team on ad-hoc projects and tasks as directed by the Head of ER, e.g. development of conduct risk scorecard, Equal Pay reviews and global e-learning initiatives
*Facilitate and contribute to discussions with members of the UK Conduct Escalation Review Panel (UK CERP) as necessary to ensure the right disciplinary outcomes are achieved
*Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including the Head of UK HR, HRBP's, Employment Law team, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Department (CCRO) and the UK CERP achieving trusted advisor status
*Accurately record, monitor and report on Employee Relations/PRA cases as directed by the Head of ER, including regular and ad-hoc reports for internal and external parties (e.g. Board of Directors, PRA)

To be considered, they are looking for:

*Significant ER experience, ideally gained within a similar role, including management of complex investigations, disciplinary as well as grievance cases
*You will have a proven understanding of the UK employment law and regulatory frameworks (exposure to, and a full appreciation of, the regulatory environment and the regulator's expectations in the context of employee conduct / disciplinary matters is important)
*Demonstrable ability to work autonomously and make difficult decisions quickly and independently
*Experience of dealing with a wide range of complex first and second stage grievances and disciplinaries as both a Decision Manager in own right as well as supporting a Decision Manager from the business.
*Experience of working within a complex, dynamic and challenging business environment
*Excellent organisation, communication, research and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail
*The ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders including senior business individuals
*You will have confidence, gravitas and credibility together with a robust and resilient personality
*Business insight with ability to influence upwards to achieve desired
