Our client is looking for an HR Manager - Guernsey for the Channel Islands, with roughly 180 employees across Guernsey (140 employees) and Jersey (40 employees).

The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record in HR, and will need to be comfortable working autonomously whilst contributing to a larger global HR team. The role will have management responsibilities for one HR Administrator.

Description

Reporting into the local MD, the HR Manager - Guernsey will have broad reaching responsibilities including -

  • Act as a point of contact for employees, supervisors and managers on all HR related issues;
  • Respond effectively to local (Guernsey) and global queries in a timely manner.
  • Advise managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle - including recruitment, performance management, compensation etc.
  • Coach managers through informal employee relations issues as well as manage formal employee relations investigations.
  • Support client group on change activities such a restructuring or organisational design initiatives.
  • Ensure the effective execution of HR processes (such as payroll and data management).
  • Liaise with the Regional/Global HR Team to drive consistency across the business and to share best practice.
  • Work with the Regional, Global and Central HR teams for country input into global projects.

This role is based in Guernsey and Guernsey employment law experience would be necessary.

Profile

Based in Guernsey, the HR Manager - Guernsey will reside on island or have the necessary work permit/housing license entitlements to live in Guernsey.

They will also possess -

  • Experience covering Channel Islands from an HR perspective.
  • A human resource management or business-related degree and a CIPD qualification is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and credibility at all levels within the company
  • Strong employment legislation knowledge and ability to remain continuously up to date with material changes.
  • Remains change agile and thrives in a dynamic environment with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset in regards to HR processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and understanding of the fund services business is desirable.
