Oakleaf Partnership is currently recruiting for an Employee Relations Operations Specialist in partnership with a city-based Insurance client

The ER Team is responsible for managing all individual employee relations issues in the UK. This role will partner with the business and HR in order to provide an excellent case management service to the organisation. Strong employment rights knowledge is essential to be a success in the position as is experience within a large, matrix reporting structured business.


Provide expert advice and coaching for business managers on a range of cases including:

Disciplinary matters

Grievance investigations

Contractual changes

Performance Management

Absence management

Flexible working applications

Manage complex litigious ER cases and tribunal cases in partnership with ER Manager, in-house Legal Counsel and business managers

Ensure a consistent and efficient application of policy / process

Advise HR colleagues on complex organisational change and restructures

Build business partner capability by developing their understanding of ER issues and promoting the ER function as a centre of excellence.

Build positive, open and constructive relationships with the business, across HR and with key suppliers to understand requirements and ensure timely delivery of ER focused solutions

Participate in key HR projects to support the function

Review HR policies and make recommendations to update in line with best practice and business strategy

Qualifications and experience:

Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels

Strong relationship management skills - ability to develop and maintain relationships with key members of the business

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

2 years'+ experience of managing and resolving complex ER issues spanning as a minimum disciplinaries, grievances and redundancies

Solid understanding of HR policy and best practice

Good working knowledge of employment legislation

Able to manage competing priorities

Exposure to complex business environment, preferably within financial or professional

Professionally qualified (CIPD or equivalent) - desirable
