We are looking to recruit a Senior HR Business Partner to join a newly formed HR team as this business experiences a period of rapid and exciting growth.

A rather unique Business Partner role which combines strong leadership skills with ER, EE, projects, change management, TUPE and TA to support a small HR team as well as a growing business.

Description

  • Develop relevant and comprehensive people plans that align to the wider business strategies (including talent attraction, retention & talent management). These should be agreed with the Head of HR and 'joined up' as part of the wider HR vision.
  • Develop effective relationships within the business to ensure strategic discussions and planning takes place, attend meetings and present initiatives, and work with the HOD to ensure strong robust working partnerships.
  • Work with the Global teams to ensure consistency of message and policy, whilst adapting to local legislation e.g. understand and manage TUPE.
  • Promote the business as an employer of choice, internally and externally. Attend networking events and work with the Talent Manager to ensure apprenticeships and graduate programmes are developed. Conduct ongoing benchmarking and benefit reviews to ensure the offering is competitive and attractive.
  • Work in collaboration with the Head of HR on talent management, succession planning and influence for broader diversity and inclusion in the wider business teams.
  • Work closely with the wider HR team to attract, hire and retain diverse teams with the right capability and values. Work on retention and attrition to understand motivations for leaving and put plans in place to ensure strong positive relationships.
  • Understand current and emerging policy and statutory requirements in order to be able to coach and support team leaders and managers to manage informal and formal people related issues, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Take the lead in complex and sensitive employment relation issues such as SARs, disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Act as key point of contact for HR queries and provide expert advice on HR policy, process and operating procedures to employees and managers.
  • Support and advise staff on maternity, paternity leave and parental leave in line with company's family friendly policies.
  • Collaboratively work with colleagues across the business to ensure continuous improvement in each department, as well as forming strong working relationships with the SLT to support a high performing work culture.
  • Prepare the HR element of the monthly board pack as well as other reporting as required.
  • Undertake project work as required by the Head of HR.
  • Leadership skills:

    • Direct line management of the HR Administrator and HR Assistant, including overseeing all general HR activities such offers, contracts, monthly outsourced payroll, assessments, interviews and so forth.
    • Conduct regular 121s with direct reports, as well as annual reviews.
    • Coach and mentor the HR Administrator and HR Assistant, to allow them to develop and progress in their roles.
    • Ensure regular and effective communication from the Head of HR and the wider business is cascaded down to the HR Administrator and HR Assistant.
    • Demonstrate exceptional leadership at all times, creating a high performing and highly engaged HR team.

Profile

  • Excellent technical ER knowledge, either CIPD (level 5 or 7) qualified or qualified by experience
  • Strong employment legislation knowledge
  • Highly developed business acumen, with a strong ability to identify and understand people developments which may impact the business
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including with the most senior of internal stakeholders
  • Visualisation of the bigger picture and prioritisation of workload according to the level of risk and urgency
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in a fast-paced business environment
  • Experience of payroll, ideally Moorepay.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
