We are currently recruiting for a US financial services organisation who are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join the Global Human Resources team based in Cheshire. The role will focus on providing tax advice, implementing tax programmes, supporting on all EMEA HR Tax matters inclusive of Compensation, Equity Awards and lead tax submissions and filings ensuring policies, procedures and practices are compliant in all jurisdictions. You will be partnering closely with all HR colleagues as well as colleagues from Corporate Tax, Finance, Risk, Compliance and Regulatory partners. Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Compensation and Tax (based in London), this is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, dedicated individual to provide strategic and tactical tax advice, input on compensation and benefit plans and programmes across a diverse client group.

The role provides leadership and knowledge on all aspects of HR tax affairs inclusive of tax rules and regulations, specifically:
* Lead employer tax compliance requirements (PSA, Form 42, PAYE Audits, SAO, etc)
* Liaison with HMRC with regard to employment taxes ensuring a good working relationship, in addition to compliance with tax requirements
* Primary point of contact with the business for ad hoc questions relating to executive compensation and tax matters, including employment tax related questions from our regional offices in EMEA
* Take care of building and maintaining procedures and controls with regard to employment tax exposures
* Executive compensation and reward planning, implementation and planning of new programmes
* Partner with Senior HR Managers and managers in the business to respond to queries from HR, with specific focus on supporting senior executives with compensation and tax assistance, stock plans, deferred compensation
* Develop a close working relationship with colleagues in corporate tax and finance (and other departments where necessary) on projects with a cross-functional slant
* Internal tax consulting with the business, including tax guidance on international pension plans and the short and long term tax planning aspects of compensation plans
* Developing and managing communication strategies for major compensation plans to ensure that employees fully understand their awards and entitlements

Ideal Candidate:
* ATT or CTA qualification is helpful
* Solid Tax background is critical
* Experience in PAYE / NIC compliance/consulting, international employment taxation and compensation planning
* Understanding and experience of compensation practices within a large multinational firm
* Demonstrable ability to summarise complex legislation / process into easily understood digestible information
* Experience of leading multiple complex projects simultaneously and knowledge of developing new processes across HR
* Experience of working in a matrixed environment, managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously and raising as appropriate
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, combined with the capability to plan and prioritise with an ability to operate at all levels
* Ability to explain complex compensation and tax issues to senior individuals and other internal parties in a straightforward manner
* Ability to be dedicated and work in a demanding, high-energy environment, using own initiative and discernment
* Enthusiasm to work within a broader Compensation & Benefits team and be flexible enough to work across the team to cover overlap areas
* Excellent project management and client relationship skills to maintain a close working relationship with executive and line management and key clients within the business
* Solid risk management, I.T. (excel, word etc.) and presentation skills
