The Opportunity
A leading cultural, history and arts constitution based in London is currently recruiting for a permanent Payroll and Systems Advisor. This is a great opportunity to support broad diverse specialisms with over 1000 employee's.

The Detail


Payroll
*To be the first point of contact for payroll quires
*Ensure all payroll changes are recorded accurately within the HR database and communicated to the payroll provider clearly and in a timely manner.
*Coordinate and participate in the monthly sign-off process for both payrolls in collaboration with Finance; applying detailed understanding of the nature of both payroll's distinct calculation methods.
*Ensure an audit trail for all payroll changes is produced and retained
*Work with internal and external auditors, clearly explaining and demonstrating payroll processes and controls
*Implement annual pay reviews; developing detailed pay models and planning implementation with the HR Consultant: Systems
*Administer the pension responsibilities for the various schemes in place, including the Civil Service Pension Schemes
*Maintain an understanding of, and keep up to date with, changes to the nature of statutory pay deductions and their impact upon employee's net pay calculations
*Set and ensure adherence to payroll cut-off deadlines and the sign-off timetables, to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees and third-party recipients
*Monitor any emerging trends in payroll errors and implement solutions, in collaboration with Finance and the payroll provider, to ensure they are resolved
*Administer and offer clear guidance on benefit schemes, such as season ticket and rental deposit loan advances
*Maintain an understanding of, and keep up to date with, changes to the nature of statutory pay deductions and their impact upon employee's net pay calculations

Systems and data management
*Develop effective relationships with Finance and the payroll provider. This will include leading monthly conference calls and coordinating the participation in quarterly service review meetings Working the HR Assistant for Payroll, update the HRIS (ADP), including new joiners, leavers, changes, absence and other variable changes.
*Respond professionally to queries from staff at all levels, communicating clearly and effectively, and providing high quality advice on payroll-related.
*Maintain the HR team's awareness of payroll and systems processes and the rationale for them
*Offer technical advice and collaborate with the organisation's self-service SuperUser group and line managers so that regular payroll submissions are received via the HR database and identify potential opportunities for process development
*Provide support for projects, including organisational change, benchmarking and yearend reconciliation activities




Skills and Experience

*A levels or equivalent experience
*Excellent numerical skills. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and a high level of PC literacy.
*PAYE knowledge and experience
*Experience of working in payroll or database administration.
*Strong experience of working with and maintaining databases
*Experience of working with Resource Link and CIPHR modules
*Experience of developing and improving work processes
*Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
*The ability to listen and respond empathetically to queries or requests
