To be responsible, under the supervision of the Employee Development Manager for the effective delivery of appropriate training and development across the business.

To deliver Employee Development projects in line with the Vision, Values and Strategic Objectives.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate all aspects of the training cycle, from training request through to analysis of impact of training.
  • Provide guidance to employees on the use of all Employee Development systems including the Learning Management System and the Performance Management System .
  • Analyse information and produce statistical data and reports in support of Employee Development activity.
  • Maintain accurate budget data in relation to learning and development expenditure.
  • Review employees' training requests, recommending approvals as appropriate, to the Employee Development Manager, ensuring that training provided is in line with the Trust's strategic objectives and within approved budgets.
  • Deliver training courses and workshops as required, from classroom based learning to one-to-one tuition, or coaching as appropriate.
  • Champion Performance Management Framework, providing guidance to all employees to ensure that it remains embedded across the business and provides an effective management tool.
  • Support managers in completing training needs analysis (via Learning Pathways) to support the induction of employees new into posts.
  • Co-ordination of the Apprenticeship Levy Programme, work experience for students and work shadowing initiatives.
  • Support managers across the business by providing advice and guidance on team development, training and performance management.
  • Make recommendations to ensure that the operational aspects of the Employee Development function remain in line with Trust's needs, support continuous improvement, achieve value for money and aid delivery of the Trust's strategic objectives.
  • Under the supervision of the Employee Development Manager, undertake and participate in Employee Development related projects as required, building project plans, providing regular progress reports and ensuring timescales and budgets are adhered to.
  • Work in partnership with the HR team to ensure that appropriate and adequate information and knowledge is shared in order to provide seamless employee services.
  • Communicate effectively with the People Engagement team to ensure consistency of approach in relation to problem solving and advice and guidance being provided to employees across the organisation.
  • Ensure effective communications with other departments to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintaining effective working relationships with external partners such as software providers, suppliers and trainers/ facilitators.

Profile

Employee Development Advisor

Good basic standard of education; GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics and English at Grade C or above.

  • Organisational skills with the ability to provide accurate and relevant information both in writing and verbally.
  • An understanding of the requirements of learning & development across an organisation with a minimum 3 years' experience of working in an L&D function.
  • CLDP - Certificate in L&D Practice (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience of training delivery and facilitation.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient whilst working in a reactionary and fast moving environment.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and provide effective and timely interventions as appropriate.
  • Capable of delivering results to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability in planning and delivering projects to timeline and within budget.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to advise on L&D development queries.
  • Ability to apply initiative to problem solving and suggest, develop and implement new and efficient ways of working.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills.
