Job Title: Apprenticeship Coordinator
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31st October 2020

Hours: 36 hours per week
Salary: PO2 £33,948 - £36,711 per annum

We’ve moved to Hounslow House, a new landmark building located in Hounslow town centre, our new technology will enable staff to work remotely and flexibly to improve the service we provide to residents and to help our staff achieve a better work/life balance.

The Role

Hounslow Council has made its number 1 pledge, to create 400 apprenticeships within the Council over 4 years. As the Apprenticeship Coordinator your role will be instrumental in realising this pledge as well as coordinating work experience and graduate trainee programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Organisational Development and Learning Manager, you will be the first point of contact for employees on an Apprenticeship, a Graduate or Work experience programme. You will liaise with senior managers and coordinate the placements for graduate or work experience trainees. You will act as the main interface between the business, the training providers, and the staff undertaking traineeships, qualification courses or apprenticeship training programmes. You will support managers to recruit to various talent programmes, coach managers on best practice, ensure candidates are completing and attending the required training and build lasting relationships with training providers such as colleges and universities.

Your Skills

Candidates will ideally have some experience of coordinating apprenticeships and trainee programmes.  They should be able to take ownership of their own workload, have excellent verbal and written communication and strong stakeholder management skills. They will be able to demonstrate a passion and proven commitment to the achievement of apprenticeship outcomes and able to make presentations and undertake promotional activities.

Essential for The Role

  1. Knowledge and understanding of Apprenticeships and experience of coordinating training programmes.
  2. A formal qualification equivalent to 2 A Levels and competence in the use of IT and MS Office packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

An Enhanced DBS check is required.
