A motivational Talent Manager to join a leading manufacturer in Chandlers Ford.

My client are an established local manufacturer of HVAC solutions to commercial businesses across the UK, who aim to be the No.1 in their field over the coming years through their brand and action. Your new role

As Talent Manager, you will report directly to the HR Manager with no direct reports. Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4.30pm (inc 1 hour lunch).

Purpose of the role:

Strategic workforce planning; to anticipate the required human capital for the organisation and the planning to meet those needs. Areas of responsibility include: recruitment, retention, development, reward and performance management. You must also provide functional and tactical support to departmental managers and the HR department.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working with Departmental Managers, identify employee training needs / skills gap analysis (e.g. individual, team, skill-based and management training) using the departmental competency matrix, where appropriate deliver internal training sessions. Ensuring teams have the right employees in the right place at the right time.
- Develop mentoring and coaching sessions for employees
- Utilising the departmental competency matrix, build succession plans
- Identify high performers and successors to key positions to make sure we have flexible teams.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will be a decisive, motivated HR generalist with particular experience of identifying skill gaps and creating/implementing training (L&D), carrying out recruitment, developing reward schemes and possess strong commercial awareness, including brand promotion, setting up recruitment fairs etc. The cultural fit is important due to the fast pace and diversity of the environment/workforce.

You will ideally have experience in manufacturing or engineering sectors, but this is not essential. You must be qualified to CIPD Level 7 or CIPD Level 5 with proven experience in a similar role.
