Our Market Intelligence team is responsible for selling solutions and targeted insights to practice areas based on market needs. We’re looking for a strategic insight analyst at senior manager level to reinforce PwC’s Insight & Analytics team in delivering innovative analysis. This position will offer exposure to a variety of different sectors and give you the ability to hone your strategic thinking skills. This role will add to our capacity across a range of areas, including horizon scanning and competitor analysis.

We’re keen to hear from candidates with exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, translating information to insight. The job holder will have experience in delivery of a holistic approach, analysis of the impact of major events on different sectors, assessment of the links between drivers of change, and synthesis of key information to provide an integrated view.

About the team

This role sits within Sales & Marketing, PwC’s centralised support function, and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. The prime area of focus for the function is to support the development and implementation of the firm’s market strategy and in particular to ensure

  • About the role

    The Market Insight team provides the firm with an outside view of the market and prides itself on analytical rigour. Our outputs uses a combination of written analysis accompanied by interactive charting and analytics created from multiple data sources as well as industry and government data.

    We now require a Senior Manager to play a critical role to support the business providing analysis and strategic insight. This position will require a strong analytical skillset alongside excellent communication skills with a track record of delivering results.

    The role will report to the Head of Market Insight which is one of the sub-teams within the Insight & Analytics team.

    In this role you will

  • Synthesise multiple data sources including political / macroeconomic data, secondary research, competitor analysis, customer research, sales and financial performance to provide external market insights to the business.

  • Deliver high quality, persuasive and concise recommendations for executive audiences.

  • Build your knowledge of UK and international markets.

  • Bring curiosity and challenge so that insight and analytics offerings are continuously improved.

  • Essential skills and experience

  • +24 months’ experience in an analytical, consulting or professional research environment including proven ability to create high quality client-ready deliverables with quantitative analysis at the core e.g. using Excel, Business Intelligence tools

  • Intellectually curious, creative thinker and a highly motivated self-starter

  • Strong problem solving skills, taking a structured, hypothesis driven approach

  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with quantitative data and detailed numerical analysis

  • Strong orientation towards working in teams

  • Degree in a quant subject e.g. Business Studies, Economics, Maths, Statistics etc.

  • Confident, independent and logical thinker with an interest in commercial insight

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner

  • Advanced Python skills is desirable
