Henlee Resourcing is working in partnership with this niche communications organisation based in Gloucester to recruit an ER / Policy Advisor on a permanent basis.

 

Reporting to the HRD, you will execute the day to day provision of front-line Employee Relations advice and support services, reviewing and updating policies and procedures and provide support on key business projects across the region. You will provide the foundation materials to support Colleagues in HR Service Delivery and the development of "Manager self-service".

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the HR/ER Business Partners and HR Service Delivery Team with more complex and / or sensitive disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues. Research local practices and provide guidance, referencing local labour law and internal policies.
  • Provide ER support across the region in relation to all HR matters in compliance with statutory obligations and best practice.
  • Maintain the ER tracking system for the region and produce monthly reports with associated analysis and recommendations to reduce the severity and number of cases.
  • Proactively work with the local HR/ER BPs to minimise sickness absence and manage Long Term absence utilising support measures such as external occupational health and the EAP, where appropriate. Develop and evaluate current absence management policy and approaches.
  • Support the HR/ER BPs with the continuing review of all HR policies, programs and practices implementing changes where necessary and updating the EMEA employee handbook.
  • Design and deliver management and employee training as directed. Identify training and other opportunities to facilitate the goals of manager self-service.
  • Maintain close communication and liaison with the Payroll team. Ensuring changes to terms and conditions are communicated and the necessary authorised paperwork is obtained and supplied by payroll deadlines.
  • Work proactively with the HRSD team to create and review templates, checklists, policies and procedures that will increase the level of support HRSD can provide to the HR/ER Business Partners across the region.
  • In partnership with HRSD team, develop appropriate regional HR Metrics to support the HR/ER BPs and make recommendations about areas for action improvement.
  • Work proactively and creatively to challenge recruitment requisitions by offering advice and guidance on alternatives such as internal recruitment and restructuring.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience of providing value-added ER support to managers remotely
  • A keen interest in EMEA employment law and case management
  • Previous exposure to European HR practices and examples of cross border working
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with colleagues, across region
  • Focus on the customer and builds strong relationships based on trust to deliver on goals
  • Embrace change and drives process improvements
  • Strong personal organisation and prioritising skills
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, managing multiple cases at once and can be relied upon to deliver in-line with SLAs and deadlines
  • Completer / finisher who documents everything - maintaining accurate case management records and keeping the EMEA ER knowledge base/tracking updated
  • Resolves conflict
  • Learns continuously and is never satisfied with current levels of performance. Natural tendency to research, ask questions and expand knowledge
  • Fluency in another European language would be an advantage
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity
