Your new role
The HR Manager is a varied role encompassing both tactical and strategic activity. The role holder acts as HR co-pilot to business leaders within functions of the organisation, owning the People strategy in these business areas and providing hands on support to employees.

The role is based at the Basingstoke site, where the Professional head office, and factories are located. Reporting to the UK Head of HR, this role is critical to executing HR initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvements.

This organisation employees c600 employees with sites based in the UK as well as Europe and America. The role-holder will play an integral role in developing and embedding HR best practices, support the cultural transition through various OD projects and create our own future path in terms of talent strategy, learning & development and engagement.

The role;

Partner with the UK HR Head to establish short and long-term goals to drive business success, execute the people agenda within the business unit and ensure associate advocacy
Coach, develop and support high performing team behaviour within leadership and line managers in order to increase their effectiveness and performance
Bring the talent strategy to life by implementing talent and organisation strategies which support the delivery of the organisational strategy. Focus on strategic capability and talent building while championing associate engagement and well-being
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and build effective stakeholder relationships in order to deliver the people agenda across the functions
Hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the business to ensure a high level of associate engagement
Demonstrable HR expertise with extensive experience in dealing with complex and sensitive employee relations cases
Proactive in driving own professional development. Effectively keep pace with industry and legal developments and external workplace trends
Champion the culture and role model the company values

What you'll need to succeed
Extensive generalist HR experience in a Manager or Business partner-level role
Experience of working with blue collar workers
Must be able to build relationships at all levels of the organisation, including within the HR team
Operates with autonomy and discretion, proactive in identifying improvement opportunities
Ability to interpret policies, address issues, troubleshoot for resolution and escalate issues to appropriate parties as needed
Demonstrable ability to size up talent - solid understanding of different interviewing techniques and assessment methods

What you'll get in return
A base salary of £45,000 - £50,000

Holiday Entitlement: 24 days plus bank holidays and one additional company declared holiday which is Christmas Eve. This increases up to 32 days with service.
