The firm has a sizeable legacy Defined Benefit scheme that encompasses over 200,000 current and former employees. The VP of Pensions will be involved in the daily management of this plan alongside several key projects that have arisen over the last three months. Some of the key accountabilties of the role include:

  • Project manage pensions related projects both cyclical and one-off projects so that there is appropriate project planning, resource management, progress assessment, contingency planning and regular reporting to a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Manage relationships and service delivery from external suppliers and ensure that contracts are compliant with Group standards, are adhered to, relevant and aligned with budgets.

  • Act as technical lead for UK pensions projects as required (Plan design, legislation or regulatory change and systems change reviews and implementation).

  • Manage annual and triennial supplier reviews and tender exercises.

  • Risk and control owner for specific elements of overall risk and control frameworks and data management.

The unique nature of the role requires applicants that can demonstrate the following attributes.

  • A proven and extensive background within an in house pensions role - with a good knowledge of working on both defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
  • Proven experience of leading on pensions related projects and managing internal resources and external suppliers is key.
  • A pensions qualification would be benefiicial and preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a skilled relationship manager.
