Financial & Payroll Controller £65k to £75k + Bonus & Benefits - City

A leading and growing Consultancy Firm based in the City are looking for a ACA or ACCA newly qualified Financial & Payroll Controller to head up their Financial Accounting and also head up the company payroll.

Reporting into the CFO this is a newly created role, so it has a "blank canvass" approach to it and my client are looking for someone to run, drive and own this post outright.

You will have full ownership of the Financial Accounting along with full payroll ownership which is outsourced to a vendor (ADP).

Financial Accounting:

Supervision of 1 Finance Assistant

Perform financial analysis to determine the present and forecasted financial status of the firm

Use financial modelling to simulate financial scenarios

Work with the CFO on potential scenarios and outcomes for distribution to Exco

Manage the preparation and publication of the firms financial documents

Examine financial and legal documents to verify accuracy

Working on the P&L accounts and the balance sheet reconciliations such as Payroll and VAT

Cash flow analysis forecast and reporting of net financial positions

Develop a clear understanding of business operations (income & expenditure)

Timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports

Conduct monthly P&L reviews

Accounting and reporting of all group entities

Preparing budgets and forecasts

Management of year end audit and be the main point of contact

Payroll:

Using ADP you will process the outsourced UK payroll and have full responsibility/be the subject matter expert: 75 UK Employees, 2 in Paris and 2 in Chicago

Full reconciliation of the payroll with high levels of attention to detail

As this is a newly created role you will need to put in place Risk Controls and Frameworks and create a document that can be followed to the T

You will be the main point of contact for all Payroll questions and queries

Review the firms benefits offering and look to make changes and suggestions on a yearly basis in line with competitors/current market trends

You will have close liaison with HR, Payroll Vendor (ADP) and Senior Stakeholders

Be responsible for P60/P11D reporting

Be actively engaged in all HR Projects and be a key member in all related activities

Must haves:

  • ACA/ACCA Newly qualified/Qualified
  • Strong Financial Accounting experience and exposure
  • Strong Payroll experience and exposure
  • Vendor management (ADP)
  • Strong reporting and analysis
  • Management experience
  • Confident communicator internal and external
  • Advanced Excel
