The firm you will be joining has a commitment to ethics, good quality legal advice and dealing with complex issues of law. The role that you will be taking up in their organisation is a Learning and Development Manager. You will be responsible for delivering high quality training programs for new recruits, including trainees and vacation schemes students. You will be responsible for the delivery of e-learning and other business services education to members of staff within the business. You will be dealing with both internal and external stakeholders in your new role.

What will the day-to-day look like? In your new role you will be working alongside senior management teams to develop and deliver training across the firm managing the core legal program and working closely with training champions in the development of new legal staff in the firm. You will also be managing the paralegals learning and development strategy. You will be working closely with the Head of Learning Development and other members of their team to ensure proactive and effective delivery of the learning management system within the firm.

What do you need to bring to the table? A solid foundation of knowledge of Learning and Development and the realisation of the importance of the role of managing the learning and development in the firm. Good experience that can set you apart knowledge of how the legal industry works and an understanding to the culture functions and learning and development relations. In particular, how solicitors are qualified and then begin to practice. Having excellent writing, verbal and computer literacy skills are going to make you stand out. Being familiar with Office beyond its basic functions is essential to your success. The knowledge of how data is collected through surveys is also going to be what can set you apart. Having attended an Institute of higher education is necessary in order for you to apply for this role and having had previous experience gained as a trainer in a similar role will be highly desirable to this new employer that you're going to have.
