The role

My client requires an Director of Talent Development & Capability to join a leading private sector business based in the West Midlands. Your main focus will be to work in partnership with other senior managers and directors to establish effective ways to deploy organisational development, learning & development, talent development good practice into the business, in order to deliver an effective, efficient and aligned business ambition.

What will you be doing?

*Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and alignment of the business and to implement Organisation, Learning & Development and Talent Development elements into the business plan.
*Work with business leads and directors to develop business strategies.
*Lead and drive the L&D and Resourcing teams to provide strong results and support where needed.
*Oversee the development and deployment of key L&D programmes.
*Work with the board and leadership team to ensure interventions are strategically aligned and to maximise business-wide impact.
*Design, and implement leadership and management development programmes.
*Work with the Executive Team and to support Executive and Board effectiveness with a focus on optimising performance and collective effectiveness.
*Personally lead the development of key identified talent and successors to ensure readiness and reducing role failure.

What skills are we looking for?

*Ideally MCIP Qualified or equivalent HR / Learning & Development qualification.
*Demonstrate experience within L&D management, organisation development and talent development.
*Customer focused and commercial aware to deliver outstanding results.
*Experienced in project planning and management.
*BPS level A or B
*Experienced in psychometric testing - for both recruitment and management development with experience of coaching methodologies.
*Team leadership having led multi-functional teams with a span of thinking challenge and ability to work alone and through others.
*Experience of working with employees within a large business supporting various client groups.
*Experience in developing, implementing and managing L&D programmes.
*Proven track record in senior stakeholder management.
*Experience working within a complex organisation and changing environments.
