A HR Business Partner is required for the London region

Your new company
A not for profit organisation based in Stratford requires a HR Business Partner on a permanent basis. This role covers multi sites so some travel will be involved.

Your new role

Organisational Development
Become familiar with the operation of the region and its key performance indicators, for example sales, income and expenditure, and staff utilisation.
Use this information, and other insights, to create a prioritised people plan that supports the region's business plan and manage the delivery of initiatives within this plan.
Lead the continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of the region's staffing structures.
Support the regional director in developing and implementing on-going communication and engagement plans to ensure that staff understand and respect the organisation's values and behavioural expectations, and act in accordance with these.
Monitor employee satisfaction and work with local managers and the associate director of learning and organisational development to design and deliver engagement and other improvement initiatives.


Workforce Planning
Use relevant HR metrics and insight to assess the future workforce needs of the region and determine short, medium and long term plans, in conjunction with the HR Heads/Leads, to ensure that these are met.
Assist in identifying and promoting internal career pathways for staff within the region, and wider organisation, to support talent development and improve retention.



Learning and Talent Development
Support the associate director of learning and organisational development in ensuring that appropriate local mechanisms are in place to support the delivery of the company's annual training plans and ensure compliance with its essential training requirements.
Assess how these plans are impacting on the business and feedback gaps or unintended consequences to the associate director of learning and organisational development.
Train and coach managers to have honest conversations with their staff about their aspirations and development needs, and encourage them to coach, mentor and support talent. Coach and/or mentor more senior managers within the region to help them identify their personal development needs and develop plans to meet these.


Employee Relations
Manage change management initiatives within the region including: TUPEs, reorganisations, centre openings and closures and changes to structures and roles. Foster constructive working relationships with trade unions and lead collective consultations and negotiations with the support of the head of employee relations.
Coach and support managers with the aims of improving staff engagement and reducing the recourse to employee relations policies and procedures.
Ensure that all HR policies, procedures and practices are followed fairly and consistently by managers and become fully embedded across the region.
Ensure that staff and managers are aware of changes to these policies and procedures and provide training and support as necessary.
Take responsibility for the management of all employee relations casework within the region, ensuring disciplinary and grievance cases are resolved as quickly as possible and within the target timescales set by the head of employee relations.
Provide support and advice to managers who have been assigned roles in the management of employee relations cases and play a proactive role in resolving more complex issues with reference to the head of employee relations as necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful you will have proven experience in a stand-alone role as a senior HR professional in a commercially-driven organisation. You will have proven experience working in a complex organisation that requires detail orientation, sound judgement and strong analytical skills. and experience of leading the full range of ER change management programmes including: organisational restructures, TUPE transfers and redeployment and redundancy exercises.Experience of coaching managers. Experience of delivering training courses. Ideally you will have previously operated in a multi-site HR role.

First degree. Coaching qualification. MCIPD qualified. Master's degree in HR, or other relevant advanced degree (Desirable). Understanding of balance sheets and other financial metrics. Comprehensive and current knowledge of employment law An understanding of learning and organisational development.
