Salary: £18,000 - £18,900 (£40k - £42k FTE)

Contract Type: Permanent, Term time only (39 weeks)

Hours per week: 22.5

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our high performing HR team and play a key role in the support and development of our growing school portfolio. We are looking for an outstanding individual to provide a timely, professional and strategic HR service to a specified group of schools across the South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region.

A demonstration of resilience and credibility is key, and someone who can quickly build relationships with senior stakeholders and able to work at pace and provide pragmatic business solutions.  As we continue to grow, you may manage TUPE transfers, work with the regions to develop our clustering strategy, support new schools joining the Group and continue to provide an excellent service to our existing schools.  You will have experience of workforce planning and change management and will be able to work effectively as part of the team around the school.

You will work closely with HR colleagues in schools and develop the knowledge and capability of line managers and Head Teachers.  You will also support the continual improvement of transactional HR through process improvements, training and sharing of good practice amongst your schools.

About You

You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to influence at a senior level as well as the drive to work autonomously and flexibly across the region.

This is a home-based regional role, covering the South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region and so would be ideally suited to someone living in this area. The role will include regular travel to schools, and occasionally to other locations across the North. You will also be required to attend meetings at our offices in Peterborough and London with occasional overnight stays. A high degree of flexibility is required, as is the ability to travel on a frequent and regular basis, and the ability to work outside of normal working hours. Travel expenses are payable from home.

The ideal candidate will be MCIPD qualified, with an excellent track record in generalist HR and Business Partner roles in addition to a deep understanding of employment law and HR best practice, preferably gained in a large complex organisation. A background in the education sector is highly desirable.

United Learning

United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
