About the RoleThis is an exciting time for Resource Management as we build on the professionalism of our people and work closely with the business to develop and implement PwC business and people strategy. PwC's Resource Management (RM) team has been centralised to assist the firm in being more agile and providing the right people on the right projects at the right time.

Reporting directly to the Senior Resource Manager and working alongside two other Resource Managers, you will have responsibility for the strategic deployment of Tax professionals across the newly formed Northern Tax team.

Focusing specifically on Pensions, Reward & Employment and Indirect teams, you will work closely with the Business Leadership and RM function to provide insight and help influence positive behaviours in line with the Firms expectations & Tax People Strategy. Providing a service centered around fair work access & allocation you will drive continuous process improvement and the introduction and adoption of new resourcing technologies.

This role is being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract and can be based in either Leeds or Manchester with regular travel to other offices across the Northern Tax Region.

Responsibilities of the role;
  • Lead, manage and promote the resourcing model across a number of different teams and locations.

  • Day to day deployment of staff to projects/assignments, managing resourcing conflicts and priorities and balancing the needs of the business with the needs of individuals.

  • Understand the implication of profitability, engagement, agility and retention goals and the impact on resourcing decisions

  • Support the Leadership team in providing direction around strategic resourcing priorities which include people, recruiting, training, mobility, agility, ways of working, workload balance.

  • A trusted advisor to the business and known as the subject matter expert (SME) around resource management.

  • Provide accurate and commercially focused management information (MI) to identify trends and key risks.

  • Support the business effectively to deliver on their revenue target

  • Engage and promote the use of key resourcing systems and work closely with the wider Resource Management community to implement new technologies and best practice.

  • Ensure staff and managers are deployed on jobs based on skills, capacity and aspirations.

  • Maintain open, honest and ongoing relationships with staff and client group through effective engagement and client management.

  • Work with key stakeholders to enhance and implement ways of working.

  • Provide proactive advice, input on conflict resolution, day-to-day resourcing requests, specials and/or other unanticipated assignments.

  • Improving agility by utilising people in our growth/strategic priority areas both within your immediate area and across the firm as a whole

  • Who we are looking for;A career in Resourcing and Deployment, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to work in cross line of service staffing helping our network be even more agile in the ever evolving markets we work with, providing the right people on the right projects at the right time. To enable us to deliver our strategy, we want to attract Resource Managers from varying backgrounds and industries.

    The following skills are required;

  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels, often on a remote basis is integral to the role.

  • Change management and an ability to challenge ways of working and drive through changes

  • Ability to leverage the support of the wider Resource Management and Operations teams.

  • Confident in communication both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge of headcount management, including coordinating between temps and contractors, HC/Workday and recruitment.

  • Motivated & self starter, able to work autonomously and in a somewhat ambiguous environment.
