Salary: Circa £55,000
Permanent
Location: Southampton

We are looking for a individual to join our exciting and friendly New Business and Development Team to identify, secure and progress land opportunities to support our partnerships business model. The ideal candidate needs to be experienced in providing and converting development opportunities into strong profit margins for the business.

Main Role

*Identification of land opportunities that fit with the business plan, such as JV's, development and land-led HA opportunities. Achieved through development of strong relationships with agents, owners, and through specialist tools such as Land Insight
*Progress secured sites through land acquisition stage - negotiation of legal agreements, preparation of acquisition pack for Board approval
*Assess commercial credentials of projects against identified corporate objectives and internal investment hurdles
*Co-ordinate internal evaluation of potential sites with MD, Planning, New Business and Sales preparing briefing notes and site summary information for consideration and approval
*Using internal margin requirement parameters undertake the initial commercial appraisal of sites modelling different scenarios. This appraisal should consider the planning and technical aspects of a project to ensure compatibility with the business plan and company objectives.

Competencies

*Experience of working in a partnerships business demonstrating the ability to appraise opportunities considering a cross section of delivery routes
*Experience and examples of successful residential land acquisition ideally to include Joint Ventures
*Commercially astute and credible in a highly competitive environment
*Skilled in appraising land opportunities and producing cogent financial appraisals
*Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
*Self motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
*Excellent project management skills
*Excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills
*A proactive approach to develop new and efficient business practices

As the client is keen for the candidate to hit the ground running previous experience of carrying out this type of role within development would be beneficial.
