About the roleReporting into the head of talent and impact (T&I) and working collaboratively with colleagues across the Performance, Talent and Reward team, the primary role of this Senior Manager role is to be the team’s subject matter expert on our approach to both talent and performance review, and to manage the day to day activities of the two managers in the team. The role will provide extensive opportunities to work on a variety of areas across the T&I portfolio and have exposure with senior level stakeholders across the firm.

The role
  • Work closely with members of the Performance, talent and reward team and stakeholders across all of the people teams, to influence and drive the talent and impact strategy.

  • Engage with business stakeholders to ensure the firmwide talent and impact strategy is executed to a high standard and insights from business feedback are listened to and acted upon to evolve our approach.

  • Take a lead role in the talent pillar of the team, driving the firm’s approach to talent review, as well as the talent strategy and successful delivery of it across the UK firm.

  • Take a lead role in the impact pillar of the team, working across the people teams on the UK firm’s approach to performance review and how it supports the people experience.

  • Seek opportunities to simplify and embed our overall talent and impact approach and drive opportunities to be increasingly technology enabled in all we do.

  • Confidently lead and further develop the talent and impact data and analytics strategy to bring relevant data and insight to key stakeholders across the business.

  • Work closely with the Workforce of the Future team to understand future skill needs and develop talent management strategies to address emerging thinking on the future workforce. 

  • Work together with the People systems and transformation team and Organisational effectiveness (OE) team to embed the use of Workday as effectively as possible for all areas of talent and impact.

  • Be proactive to provide practical support, guidance and advice to stakeholders across the business, tailoring content and messages to different audiences e.g. business unit leaders, people partners, relationship leaders, career coaches and HC.

  • Design and deliver simple and engaging communications and training to guide business stakeholders and the HC community.

  • Represent the UK in the global T&I network when required to do so.

  • Take ownership of projects to review firmwide processes and local approaches to both talent and impact. Understand where variation exists and why. Bring ideas and experience to help achieve greater firmwide alignment.  

  • Keep up to date with external best practice to inform both the local and global T&I strategy.

  • Passionate about the firm (particularly the people agenda) and making a difference, and is looking for a challenging role that will develop themselves and their PwC network further. 

  • Experience working in talent and impact, with hands-on Workday experience preferred..

  • Has a broad strategic interest in the firm, the marketplace in which we operate and what we need to do for our people. 

  • Strong organisational and project management skills are essential. 

  • Experience of successfully managing others.

  • Able to quickly assimilate information and data and present in a clear, effective manner.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels by flexing their style and putting themselves in others’ shoes. 

  • Able to build strong relationships quickly with a diverse range (and seniority) of people.

  • Resilient in difficult situations and able to cope with tight deadlines, difficult people situations and constant change. 

  • Not afraid to challenge the status quo to add value. 

  • A self-starter who is capable of working on their own as well as in a team with the ability to take the lead and build influence in team meetings. 

  • Capable of operating in an ambiguous, always changing and dynamic environment. 

  • Able to apply existing skills to a much wider variety of topics, not necessarily related to their own area of specialism. 

  • Aware of the sensitive and confidential nature of the information they will have access to daily and know how to use this effectively. 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver different, and sometimes difficult, messages to a wide range of audiences.

  • Comfortable writing presentations, delivering key messages with impact through a variety of media.
