Recruitment & Planning Partner - Resource Planning

Location of Role: Kent Police College (Maidstone), North Kent Police Station (Ebbsfleet) & Essex Police Headquarters (Chelmsford)

Salary Range: £33,939 to £46,809

If yes, then the HR Recruitment and Planning Partner for Essex Police and Kent Police could be the job for you.

If successful for this collaborative role you will play a leading role in supporting the delivery of both forces’ resourcing contribution to ensure we have skilled resources in the right place at the right time.

You will be pivotal in developing strong working relationships between key stakeholders to ensure open communication, effective planning and sharing of information in a timely fashion. In addition, you will play a leading role in ensuring resourcing decisions are made across both organisations in accordance with policy and best practice, providing expert advice and guidance in a range of resourcing matters to senior police officers and staff.  This role will undoubtedly offer the opportunity to develop your knowledge and ability to work at a strategic level to facilitate the effective operation of policing for Kent Police and Essex Police.

If successful you will lead the team responsible for the resource planning of all police officers ensuring they are equipped and motivated to support organisational objectives. The successful candidate needs to be a credible and confident leader and have the ability to motivate not just their own resourcing team but others to ensure the resourcing requirements and deployment plans are delivered successfully.

As well as demonstrating the above abilities, the skills below are also key to success in the role:

  • Educated to MCIPD level or graduate level or with equivalent experience Relevant experience at supervisory level, preferably within a resourcing or wider HR environment
  • Experience of creating strategic plans and products or change programmes and evaluating their success, preferably in a HR or people resourcing arena
  • Experience of successfully leading a team in fast paced environment to deliver tangible results
  • Experience of building strong working relationships with stakeholders at a strategic level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

An in-depth knowledge of current good practice in HR including equality and diversity practice and developments, and statutory requirements in relation to the current business/operational context would be a distinct advantage. A sound knowledge is also required of both Forces’ key challenges and plans.

This role is a collaborative role within Essex Police and Kent Police and will require travel across locations within Kent and Essex.

The Recruitment and Planning function with Resourcing covers both recruitment and resource planning. Whilst the initial focus is on resource planning the successful postholder may be required to fulfil elements of the recruitment portfolio in the future.
