We are delighted to be working on a Director of HR and Transformation role for a high-profile organisation engaged in one of the largest environmental protection projects of our lifetime.

Our client is a critical arm's length government body which is currently growing in size and developing to enable elivery of a nationally significant infrastructure project over the coming years(and no it's not HS2)! It employs some of the brightest and best scientists and engineers in the UK, and has a clear strategic imperative to design and build a project of major importance to current and future generations.

This is a long-term venture, with the build, operation and eventual decommissioning running into several decades.

The organisation is now moving to a delivery focus and the skills and capabilities along with the change in culture required to complete that transformation are continuing at pace. Now is the time to engage with local communities, to enhance internal capability and focus on building an appropriate supply chain to meet the organisation's short, medium and long-term needs.

This is a newly created role. Reporting into a recently appointed and highly rated CEO, with a dotted line into the HRD of the main governing body. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders across the organisation, establishing and leading an HR team and a transformation programme which will enable the organisation to deliver as it moves through the next phases of its evolution.

The ideal candidate will be a highly influential, collaborative, non-hierarchical credible HR professional with a successful track record in transformation in organisations with a long-term outlook such as large-scale infrastructure projects, construction or industrial manufacturing.

They will be confident, resilient and self-sufficient with strong stakeholder skills and exco experience - they bring variety and diverse thinking from the sectors they have worked in.

The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly, however, as a large number of stakeholders are based in the Oxford area - it is likely that they will want to spend some of their working week based there as well as travelling across the UK to visit sites as required.
