We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, experienced and enthusiastic HR Advisor, with a particular focus on employee relations, to join our HR & Business Team.
We are looking for someone with significant employee relations experience across a range of diverse, complex and sensitive casework, applying best practice and employment legislation. You will be able to manage your own caseload of employee relations cases to completion, including administration of cases, ensuring all documentation is GDPR compliant.
You will be a CIPD Member, ideally qualified to CIPD Level 5 and have experience of helping to drive change initiatives in support of business need. In line with the Council’s policies and procedures, you will coach and advise managers on the most appropriate and cost effective employee relation interventions in order to achieve the best outcomes, while minimising risk and ensuring cases are resolved quickly and effectively.
You will have very effective interpersonal skills and enjoy working collaboratively, with the courage and professionalism to challenge when necessary.
You will work closely with members of the HR & Business Team, supporting the HR & Business Manager and the wider Partnerships Directorate. You will also be able to develop effective relationships within the Council to promote good employee relations across the organisation.
This is a temporary position, initially for 12 months, working Monday – Friday, 37 hours a week. This post will be based at the Town Hall, Clacton on Sea but will also have the flexibility for some home working.
Note: due to the current COVID-19 requirements, we are working with very restricted and limited use of the Town Hall. Therefore, it is likely that you will be expected to work from home for at least 3 days a week, these working arrangements are under constant review.
Closing date: 16:45, Friday, 30 October 2020.
