The HR Officer will work alongside the HR Director to provide a comprehensive HR service to the partners and employees and to act as the primary deliverer of recruitment services to the firm.

HR & Recruitment Officer - 12 month FTC - Leatherhead (Home working for the moment)

Your Opportunity and Role

Recruiting for a HR Officer to join the team for a maternity cover contract, for up to 18 months. The HR Officer will work alongside the HR Director to provide a comprehensive HR service to the partners and employees and to act as the primary deliverer of recruitment services to the firm.

As a HR Officer your day to day work will encompass:

General Recruitment:

  • Taking instruction from departments on recruitment
  • Supporting Line Managers in creating job specifications
  • Instructing agencies on roles
  • Reviewing incoming applications and organising interviews
  • Conducting first stage interviews
  • Organising second interviews
  • Identifying and organising appropriate testing
  • Developing relationships with London and local agencies
  • Creating advertisements and identifying appropriate methods of sourcing candidates
  • Preparing contracts, offer documentation and referencing on candidates

Graduate Recruitment:

  • Tracking graduate applications
  • Shortlisting CVs
  • Arranging and conducting first stage interviews
  • Organising assessment days including setting up the online testing platform
  • Attending recruitment fairs and university/school careers events
  • Maintaining the Graduate careers website
  • Preparing contracts, offer documentation and referencing on candidates
  • Organising the first day induction process and issuing joining instructions to candidates

Student Administration:

  • Assisting with the ICAEW registration process
  • Administration of the apprenticeship programme
  • Prepare and review student training packages
  • Arranging student induction training sessions
  • Monitor and record study leave across the Firm
  • Track and report on exam progress and success
  • Administration of the work experience and intern programme

Ad-Hoc:

  • Assisting with departmental matters and dealing with ad-hoc queries from staff and partners
  • Providing pastoral support to employees
  • Designing, supporting and delivering internal training
  • Preparation of contract variations and offer documentation
  • Assisting with HR inductions through the preparation of induction packs, meet and greets and first day one-to-one induction meetings
  • Dealing with ad-hoc queries from staff and partners, particularly through regular interaction with the HR inbox
  • Assisting and leading on ad-hoc projects
  • Providing legal and HR support on a range of matters including performance issues, disciplinary matters (including conducting investigations and attendance at meetings)
  • Reviewing and updating HR documentation
  • Provision of management information as requested by partners and DMs
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the HRIS, Cascade
  • Reporting on monthly headcount analysis, staff listings and organisation charts
  • Absence reconciliations

Profile

Requirements

The successful candidate be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to manage a diverse and often conflicting workload
  • Previous recruitment experience, preferably within a professional services environment
  • Intelligence, resourcefulness and the ability to 'think on their feet'
  • A professional manner and the ability to act as ambassador for the department and for the LLP
  • A strong commitment to service
  • The ability to work on their own initiative
  • The ability to identify and act upon priorities and deadlines
  • Discretion and the ability to deal with sensitive information
  • A high level of IT Literacy
  • A good eye for detail
