HR specialist based in Chelmsford 12 month contract

Your new company
A large, professional services organisation with an office in Chelmsford requires a HR Specialist for a 12 month contract.

Your new role
The role sits in the HR Service Delivery team and is the first point of contact for all HR related queries. The role is responsible for a wide range of general HR administration including new starters and leavers and processing employee changes. The role will also lead in a specialist area of processes on behalf of the team. The role is responsible for the accurate maintenance of records and documentation to ensure all HR information is accurate and up to date. It is important the post holder is an effective member of the team and supports their colleagues

  • Be the first point of contact for HR queries received by phone, email and HR ticketing tool
  • Cover the HR inbox ticketing tool rota and assign tickets/queries in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate employee records through data entry
  • Process HR invoices and obtaining approvals where required
  • Provide responses to audit requests where required
  • Process and issuing long service awards
  • Update absence records where required
  • Administer the annual performance process
  • Provide support for the annual and monthly benefit windows including responding to queries and checking records
  • Maintain administration tracker ensuring it is up to date, accurate and actioned
  • Responsibility for a monthly process e.g. terminations review
  • Provide data to support the annual talent review process
  • Ensure the bonus tracker is updated in a timely manner as appropriate


What you'll need to succeed
You will have an Interest in and be committed to obtaining CIPD qualification. Educated to A-Level standard or relevant experience is desirable. Ability to use Oracle or similar HR systems. Good working knowledge of HR policy and best practice

  • Ability to work in a fast moving complex environment
  • Ability to deliver service excellence and deal with difficult situations
  • Comfortable when working to tight deadlines and able to turn work around within a short time span where demands are liable to change at short notice
  • Comfortable working autonomously and across multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates a high degree of personal organisation and self-management
  • Experience of using multiple systems
